Crown & Bridge

Crowns are a tooth-shaped "cap" that is placed over a tooth to restore its shape and size, strength, appearance, to hold a bridge in place, or to cover a dental implant. Crowns can replace a larger filling when a tooth no longer has enough structure for adequate support. They can provide strength and protection to a weak tooth and prevent fracturing, or one that has been root canal treated. They can also be used to improve the appearance of cracked or stained teeth.

In certain cases, multiple teeth may be missing, which require the placement of a bridge instead of a crown. Bridges are false teeth that are designed to "bridge" the gap created by one or more missing teeth. Bridges can be anchored on either side by crowns and cemented permanently into place.
